Basketball Recap: Peyton Sanchez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Stevenson over North Monterey County

Stevenson lost against North Monterey County back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Stevenson Pirates took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Monterey County Condors. The game marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Stevenson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Peyton Sanchez, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Caroline Bufkin also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Stevenson's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for North Monterey County, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6.

Stevenson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-35 victory against Carmel on the 13th. North Monterey County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
