Basketball Recap: General McLane Takes a Loss

General McLane lost against Erie back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Sunday. 2025 welcomed the General McLane Lancers with a 56-30 loss courtesy of the Erie Royals. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Royals are ranked 92nd).

Draya Neavins was her usual excellent self, going 10 of 19 on her way to 22 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds for Erie. The game was Neavins' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Deaja Williams was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for General McLane and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Erie, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

General McLane has already played their next match (against Central Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Erie has already played their next contest, a 48-29 defeat against St. Vincent-St. Mary on the 9th.
