Football Game Preview: Seven Lakes Spartans vs. Paetow Panthers + How To Watch

Seven Lakes hasn't had much luck against Paetow recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Seven Lakes is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 34 points last Thursday, they were much more limited against Jordan on Thursday. The game between the Spartans and the Warriors didn't end well, with the Spartans falling 21-6. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 486th, while the Warriors are ranked 184th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Paetow faced off against Cinco Ranch on Friday. The Panthers took a 41-27 bruising from the Cougars. The Panthers were down 41-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Seven Lakes will have to contain Jovan Rodriguez as he made an impact in Paetow's last game. He rushed for 242 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Rodriguez was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 69 yards.

Seven Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Paetow, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Seven Lakes took a serious blow against Paetow in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 37-7. Thankfully for the Spartans, Jackson Farrar (who threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
