Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Fort Collins

Fort Collins extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 5-2. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Loveland Red Wolves. While the Lambkins didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Lily Padilla spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Fort Collins let Aspen Fogo and Cori Davis run wild. Fogo went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Davis went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those three hits gave Fogo a new career-high. Elsie Prenni was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

As for Loveland, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6. They have struggled against Fort Collins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

On Loveland's side, Jadyn Forgey made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Fort Collins will take on Greeley West at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Loveland, they will face off against Thompson Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
