Oglethorpe County dropped down to 3-2 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Jenkins Warriors by a score of 5-4. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

As for Jenkins, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.

For Jenkins' part, Ronald Dunham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Pedro Fabian, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was Brian Swinton, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Coincidentally, Oglethorpe County and Jenkins will both be playing Savannah Country Day the next time they take the field. The Patriots will head out to face the Hornets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 1:30 p.m.
