Baseball Recap: Evans Comes Up Short

Evans suffered their biggest loss since February 26th on Thursday. They came up short against the Greenbrier Wolfpack, falling 16-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolfpack this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 last Tuesday.

Evans saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Crewe, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Crewe wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Evans kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

Evans' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Greenbrier, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

While Evans had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
