Soccer Recap: Maquoketa Comes Up Short

If Maquoketa was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Beckman on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals came up short against the West Liberty Comets on Friday, falling 3-0. Maquoketa haven't had much luck with West Liberty recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Maquoketa's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1-2 and their overall record down to 10-2-2. As for West Liberty, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maquoketa will take on Prince of Peace Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Liberty, they will face off against Anamosa at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
