Soccer Recap: Carlsbad Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Carlsbad kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Mayfield Trojans, falling 6-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Carlsbad of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Looking ahead, Carlsbad will head out to take on Centennial at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mayfield, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Los Lunas at 6:00 p.m.
