Softball Game Preview: St. Pius X Lancers vs. St. Clair Bulldogs

St. Pius X has gone a perfect 3-0 against St. Clair recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lancers will face off against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

On Monday, St. Pius X came up short against St. Charles West and fell 5-2.

Taylor Bean spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Michaela Quick was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, St. Clair came up short against Fredericktown on Monday, falling 17-4.

St. Clair's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for St. Pius X, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

St. Pius X took their win against St. Clair in their previous matchup back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 11-3 score. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
