Soccer Recap: Effingham County Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Effingham County was not quite Wayne County's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Effingham County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Wayne County are ranked 81st).

Effingham County has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Wayne County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.

Effingham County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wayne County, they will take on Coffee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
