Soccer Game Preview: Terra Nova vs. Carlmont

The Terra Nova Tigers will take on the Carlmont Scots at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Terra Nova is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering San Mateo just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Tigers have been dealt a draw since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carlmont). They never let Half Moon Bay onto the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. Give the Scots' defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Half Moon Bay from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Delaney Kumer led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Carlmont is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 40 goals over those eight games. Terra Nova's draw gives them a new season record of 10-3-2.
