Volleyball Recap: Chesapeake Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Chesapeake can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Howard Lions on Friday. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 25-8.

Gillian Price paced Chesapeake's offense, picking up six kills. Price got some help from Corinne Brandts and her five assists. Price was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Miranda Ball was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had eight digs and three aces. Courtney Ellison also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Chesapeake's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Howard, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 23-0.

Chesapeake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Howard, they will head out to face off against Arundel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
