Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Unity Christian

After only one run in their last match, Covenant Christian Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Unity Christian on Friday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Lions. Considering the Rams have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Garrison Barton made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Covenant Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Bo Reid, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Asher Bond was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Covenant Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Unity Christian only managed four hits.

Covenant Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Unity Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Coming up, Covenant Christian Academy will challenge Johnson Ferry Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Unity Christian, they will face off against Cornerstone Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 14.6 runs per game this season.
