Basketball Recap: Mount Union Takes a Loss

After soaring to 56 points the game before, Mount Union was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were outmatched by the Huntingdon Bearcats and fell 58-14. The match marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mount Union's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddie Dimoff, who posted five points. That was a full 35.7% of Mount Union's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Mount Union's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Huntingdon, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Mount Union wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 36-31 defeat against Juniata Valley on the 28th. Huntingdon has also already played their next contest, a 67-50 loss against Southern Huntingdon County on the 28th.
