Basketball Recap: Faith Baptist Comes Up Short

Faith Baptist was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 64-20 defeat at the hands of the Trinity Classical Academy Knights. While losing is never fun, the Contenders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 815th, while the Knights are ranked 334th).

Kate Melton was Faith Baptist's leading scorer, having posted six points. Bekah Holland held things down on the boards with 13 rebounds. Kaelyn Hilmo took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Faith Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Trinity Classical Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

Faith Baptist didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 32-27 win against Vasquez on the 25th. Trinity Classical Academy has also already played their next game, a 61-54 victory against Heritage Christian on the 25th.
