Basketball Recap: Mingo Central Skates Past Tolsia with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greenbrier East, Mingo Central was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 74-32 victory over the Tolsia Rebels. The Miners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 34 points or more this season.

Mingo Central had a senior duo take command as Addie Smith went 9 for 14 on her way to 24 points in addition to eight assists and five steals and Bella Hall went 9 for 16 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight steals and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of DaLaney Grimmett, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 16 points.

Mingo Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Mingo Central's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Tolsia, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Mingo Central will venture away from home to challenge Summers County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mingo Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season. As for Tolsia, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grace Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
