Basketball Recap: Oxford Comes Up Short

Oxford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Lancaster Catholic Crusaders and fell 61-19. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while the Crusaders are ranked 89th).

Oxford's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lancaster Catholic, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oxford will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Phoenixville at 6:45 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Lancaster Catholic, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Coatesville at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
