Basketball Game Preview: Turlock Christian Eagles vs. Millennium Falcons

Turlock Christian is 1-9 against Millennium since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Turlock Christian Eagles face off against the Millennium Falcons at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Turlock Christian is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were outmatched by Venture Academy and fell 53-26. The Eagles were down 43-16 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Turlock Christian had strong showings from Faith Hayes, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and four blocks, and Christiana Eivaz, who earned six points and nine rebounds. Eivaz is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last eight games she's played.

Even though they lost, Turlock Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Millennium didn't have quite enough to beat Ben Holt College Prep Academy on Friday and fell 33-31.

Turlock Christian now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Millennium, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Turlock Christian came up short against Millennium when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 34-22. Can Turlock Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
