Basketball Recap: San Jacinto Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact San Jacinto Leadership Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Pilibos Eagles by a score of 52-49 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered since January 16, 2024.

Pilibos' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nanar Shahinian led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Sevana Keuroghlian, who posted ten points and three steals.

San Jacinto Leadership Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Pilibos, they now have a winning record of 14-13.

As of now, neither San Jacinto Leadership Academy nor Pilibos have any future games scheduled.
