Softball Recap: Omaha Central Has No Trouble Against Bryan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Omaha Central). They blew past the Bryan Bears 16-2 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won nine in a row.

Edie Titus made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Omaha Central got a massive performance out of Katelyn McClure, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave McClure a new career-high. Mackenzie Simpson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Omaha Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Omaha Central now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bryan, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Omaha Central and Bryan will both be playing Douglas County West the next time they take the field. The Bears will head out to face the Falcon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
