Recap: Liberty Hurricanes vs. Freedom Patriots
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Easton Area, the Liberty Hurricanes were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took down Freedom 52-33. Given Liberty's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Freedom is ranked 450th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Liberty's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ruby Miller led the charge by scoring 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Pukszyn, who scored nine points along with two steals.
The victory got Liberty back to even at 10-10. As for Freedom, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Liberty will head out on the road to square off against Nazareth Area at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Freedom does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
