Basketball Recap: Ontario Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Ontario challenged South Pasadena on Tuesday. The Ontario Jaguars fell 53-45 to the South Pasadena Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Tigers are ranked 212th).

It was another big night for Kayla Boozer, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 20 rebounds for South Pasadena. That makes it three consecutive games in which Boozer has scored at least a third of South Pasadena's points. Another player making a difference was Mia Leach, who posted 12 points along with eight boards and five assists.

Ontario's loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for South Pasadena, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Ontario wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-37 defeat against Diamond Ranch on the 29th. South Pasadena has also already played their next game, a 46-39 loss against La Canada on the 29th.
