Baseball Game Preview: Southeast Whitfield County Raiders vs. Dalton Catamounts

For the second straight game, Southeast Whitfield County will face off against Dalton. Southeast Whitfield County will host Dalton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast Whitfield County has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 7.

On Monday, Southeast Whitfield County didn't have quite enough to beat Dalton and fell 2-1.

For Dalton's part, Scottie Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up ten Ks. What's more, Miller gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Asher Renfroe, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season.

Dalton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Dalton pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Southeast Whitfield County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-18.
