Football Game Preview: Smith Center Redmen vs. Sterling Black Bears + Official Tickets

The Smith Center Redmen will take on the Sterling Black Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after 11 games, but that won't be the case come Friday.

Smith Center is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Moundridge by a score of 22-14.

Meanwhile, Sterling posted their closest victory since September 20, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Trinity 44-42. Sterling's victory was all the more impressive since the Celtics were averaging only 14.27 points allowed on the season.

Sterling had a senior duo take command as Logan Isaac rushed for 128 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries and Wyatt Newberry rushed for 120 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Newberry's longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Sterling's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Smith Center, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 11-0.
