Imperial's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-9. As for Southwest EC, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12-2 record this season.

Imperial and Southwest EC could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings.
