Basketball Recap: Ray Makes It Five in a Row at Home

It was a proper cat-fight when Ray faced off against Superior on Tuesday. The Ray Bearcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 victory over the Superior Panthers. The Bearcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ray to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jhett Young, who went 6 of 10 en route to 14 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Young a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Beede, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Ray pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Superior, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Ray wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-59 defeat against El Capitan on the 5th. As for Superior, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-38 loss against Valley Lutheran on the 4th.
