Basketball Game Preview: Moon Valley Rockets vs. Greenway Demons

The Moon Valley Rockets will face off against the Greenway Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Moon Valley will head into Thursday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They came up short against Paradise Honors, falling 68-48. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Panthers are ranked 75th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Elias Tenorio, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 15 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jacob Vielmas was another key player, putting up four points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Greenway suffered their biggest loss since December 23, 2024 on Saturday. They took a blow against Independence, falling 58-31. The contest marked the Demons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Greenway and nudges their season record down to 13-8. As for Moon Valley, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
