Basketball Recap: Blacklick Valley Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Blacklick Valley extended their home winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Kristin Szymusiak. The Blacklick Valley Vikings walked away with a 61-49 win over the Meyersdale Red Raiders on Monday thanks in part to Szymusiak, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 42 times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Riley Hoover, who posted 11 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave her a new career-high.

Blacklick Valley's victory bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Meyersdale, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blacklick Valley will square off against Northern Cambria at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Meyersdale, they will challenge Shade at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
