Basketball Recap: Madera Comes Up Short

Madera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Justin Garza Guardians. The Coyotes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Guardians earlier this season, when they won 45-42.

Justin Garza's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyla Maxey, who posted 18 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Maxey has scored at least a third of Justin Garza's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lailah Whittle, who had 11 points.

Madera's record now sits at 6-18. As for Justin Garza, they pushed their record up to 10-16 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

As of now, neither Madera nor Justin Garza have any future games scheduled.
