Soccer Recap: Hillgrove Takes a Loss

Hillgrove was the 4-1 winner over Pebblebrook when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Hillgrove fell just short of Pebblebrook by a score of 3-2 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Hillgrove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Pebblebrook are ranked 30th).

Hillgrove's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Pebblebrook, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Hillgrove is set to take on their familiar foe South Cobb at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pebblebrook will square off against rival McEachern at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
