After a string of four wins, Springfield's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 7-6 to the McDonald Blue Devils. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Springfield's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for McDonald, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Springfield will square off against rival Lowellville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, McDonald is set to take on their familiar foe Mineral Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Blue Devils 13.2, the Rams 14.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
