Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Triton). They managed  a  61-55 victory over the Southern Lee Cavaliers  on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hawks needed considering they were shutout in their previous   match.
Triton was led to victory by  Ja'Niah Smith and  Nashara McNeil-Watlington.  Smith  dropped  a double-double on 20  points and 13  boards, while  McNeil-Watlington  went 7 of 12  on her way to 21 points in addition to six  rebounds and three  steals. That's the most points  Smith has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of  Neveah Hawley, who  posted 11  points.
 Triton was working as a unit and  finished the game with 13  assists. That's the most  assists they've managed all season.
The  win  got Triton back to even at 5-5. As for Southern Lee, their defeat was  their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 3-7.
 Triton will be taking part in a tournament against Elizabeth Seton  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Elizabeth Seton will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  victory, something Triton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Southern Lee, they will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Montgomery Central at 6:00  p.m.  on January 3, 2025.
