Soccer Game Preview: Islands vs. Long County

The Islands Sharks are taking a road trip to challenge the Long County Blue Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

If Long County heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Islands took over last week. Islands came out on top against Johnson by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. The Sharks haven't had any issues with the Atomsmashers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

TJ Hapakuna-Nunuha and Jack Stephans scored all four of Islands' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, on FridayWoodville-Tompkins kept up with Long County until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Long County put the hurt on Woodville-Tompkins with a sharp 6-0 win. Considering the Blue Tide have won three matchups by more than four goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Long County's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Islands, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
