Soccer Game Preview: Christian Brothers vs. Woodcreek

The Christian Brothers Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Woodcreek Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian Brothers' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 11 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Christian Brothers is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against St. Francis on Saturday. Christian Brothers fell just short of St. Francis by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Troubadours are ranked 44th).

Meanwhile, Woodcreek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Raiders a 1-0 shutout. The Timberwolves wouldn't have won without Allison Canchola, who scored the game-winner.

Christian Brothers' loss dropped their record down to 5-10-3. As for Woodcreek, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Christian Brothers suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Woodcreek in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Christian Brothers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
