Effingham County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the South Effingham Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted against the Mustangs since September 19, 2022.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Effingham County will face off against Madison County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Effingham, they will head out to challenge Wayne County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
