Football Recap: Clovis Falls Short Against Ranked Centennial

Clovis faced Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wildcats came up short against the Hawks, falling 48-26. The Wildcats were down 41-12 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

This is the second loss in a row for Clovis and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Centennial, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Coming up, Clovis will be playing at home against Alamogordo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.78 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to square off against Las Cruces at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will need to watch out since the Bulldawgs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
