Softball Recap: Hampton-Dumont/CAL Comes Up Short

Hampton-Dumont/CAL was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS. Hampton-Dumont/CAL was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

Hampton-Dumont/CAL's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-15.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hampton-Dumont/CAL is set to challenge their familiar foe Webster City on Monday. Meanwhile, Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS will face off against rival Humboldt at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
