Baseball Recap: Shaw Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Shaw was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Kendrick on Tuesday. The Raiders never let the Cherokees get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Ashton Weeks was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Shaw is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 12-13 otherwise. Weeks was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Shaw let Jeremiah Lovett and Cohen Watkins run wild. Lovett went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Watkins went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those three hits gave Lovett a new career-high. Khonnor Dorminey was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Shaw always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kendrick only posted an OBP of .500.

Shaw's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-13. As for Kendrick, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.
