Basketball Recap: Te'asia Briscoe Key Part of a Team Effort in Techies Win

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Purdue Polytechnic ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 66-60 victory over the Heritage Christian Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-40 back in November of 2024.

Purdue Polytechnic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Te'Asia Briscoe, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Briscoe's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ja'Nyiah Rogers, who posted 14 points along with six assists and four steals.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Casey Frost, who scored 13 points in addition to seven assists and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Frost a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Purdue Polytechnic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Heritage Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Purdue Polytechnic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-42 loss against Cathedral on the 16th. Heritage Christian has also already played their next matchup, a 64-40 victory against Anderson on the 21st.
