Baseball Game Preview: Darlington Tigers vs. Pepperell Dragons

The Darlington Tigers will square off against the Pepperell Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Darlington took a 15-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bremen, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Darlington sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Bremen on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Pepperell entered their tilt with Haralson County on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They skirted past the Rebels 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Dragons have posted since April 29, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Sam Ross, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of JP Kilgo, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Darlington's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-8. As for Pepperell, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Darlington came up short against Pepperell in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 9-5. Can Darlington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
