Baseball Recap: East Columbus Takes a Loss

East Columbus and Bear Grass Charter squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but East Columbus had to settle for second. They fell 9-4 to the Bears. That's two games in a row now that the Gators have lost by exactly five runs.

East Columbus saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier King, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for East Columbus and nudges their season record down to 17-8. As for Bear Grass Charter, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-5.

East Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bear Grass Charter, they will head out to face off against The North Carolina Leadership Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
