Softball Recap: The Academy Comes Up Short

The Academy lost against Denver North on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats wound up with the same score they had in their last game (8-7), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Keara Pogue made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Velasquez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Denver North, the win was the sixth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, The Academy will take on Niwot at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Denver North, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-0 victory against Aurora Central on the 19th.
