Nemaha Central extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They blew past the Rossville Bulldogs 56-28. Fans of the Thunder have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Carter Hajek had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 364 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 84 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Nemaha Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 413 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 179 rushing yards in 12 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Nemaha Central's defense and their three sacks. Kyler Ganstrom was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Ganstrom is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Rossville fell to 2-1. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Nemaha Central is ranked tenth).

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jack Donovan, who picked up 106 receiving yards, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Looking ahead, Nemaha Central will face off against Chanute at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rossville, they will challenge Maranatha Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
