Soccer Game Preview: Verdugo Hills vs. Chavez

The Verdugo Hills Dons will head out on the road to take on the Chavez Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chavez took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Verdugo Hills, who comes in off a win.

Verdugo Hills' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Grant by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Dons were the better team in the second half.

Julianna Sarabia and Amy Valdez scored both of Verdugo Hills' goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Monroe. Considering the last time the Eagles couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Verdugo Hills' win bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Chavez, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8-2.

Verdugo Hills took their victory against Chavez when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Verdugo Hills since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
