Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Stone Ridge Christian's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Stone Ridge Christian won against Le Grand last Tuesday with 58 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Stone Ridge Christian Knights beat the Waterford Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 58-20. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 24 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Bella Ewing, who posted 30 points and five assists. That makes it 22 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Stone Ridge Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tailynn Dungy, who put up 13 points along with five assists and five boards.

Ewing wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Stone Ridge Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Stone Ridge Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.2 points over those games. As for Waterford, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Looking ahead, Stone Ridge Christian will challenge Stockton Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
