Baseball Recap: Hebron Christian Starts Season with Victory Against Gainesville

Hebron Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Gainesville Red Elephants by a score of 10-5.

Dean Livingston made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Demitri Watts, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Tyler Rogers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hebron Christian will head out to challenge Dacula at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gainesville, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will take on Forsyth Central at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. Gainesville is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
