Basketball Game Preview: Galt Warriors vs. Union Mine Diamondbacks

The Galt Warriors will take on the Union Mine Diamondbacks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Galt has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Union Mine will come in with four straight wins.

Galt is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Argonaut on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Galt took a blow against Argonaut, falling 59-22. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-7.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Antanella Feilbach, who posted seven points and nine boards. Alexandra Gonzalez Landa was another key player, putting up four points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Union Mine strolled past Amador with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 35-21.

Galt better keep an eye on Kyra Wooden. She was instrumental in Union Mine's win, earning five points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Callie Dawson, who went 6 for 8 en route to 14 points.

Galt's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Union Mine, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Galt suffered a grim 52-29 defeat to Union Mine in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Galt, Jennifer Wylie (who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
