Basketball Recap: Summerfield Waldorf Mustangs vs. Credo Gryphon
Summerfield Waldorf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 47-10 defeat at the hands of the Credo Gryphon. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Gryphon from their previous meeting back in November of 2022.
Credo can attribute much of their success to Maya Leach, who posted 18 points. Leach is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Reilly Fay, who earned 13 points.
Summerfield Waldorf's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Credo, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Summerfield Waldorf and Pacific Union College Prep will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Summerfield Waldorf's defense has only allowed 24.2 points per game this season, so Pacific Union College Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Credo, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Roseland Collegiate Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
