Milpitas skates past Wilcox with ease

Recap: Milpitas Trojans vs. Wilcox Chargers

The Milpitas Trojans won the last time they faced the Wilcox Chargers, and things went their way on Friday too. Milpitas blew past Wilcox, posting a 56-27 victory on the road. Given Milpitas' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Wilcox is ranked 926th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Milpitas found their leader in underclassman Brennalyn David, who scored ten points along with seven steals. David hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Jasleen Dhaliwal, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Milpitas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Wilcox, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-17.

Milpitas will be playing at home against Santa Clara at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Milpitas is coming into the matchup with eight straight victories at home, so Santa Clara is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Wilcox, they will head out on the road to face off against Gunn at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilcox is coming into the game with four straight losses on the road, meaning Gunn will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
