Baseball Recap: Lovejoy Takes a Loss

Lovejoy lost against Northgate last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lovejoy Wildcats fell 9-4 to the Northgate Vikings. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lovejoy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Finkley, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. What's more, Finkley posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Evan Shaw was another, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Lovejoy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for Northgate, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lovejoy Wildcats take on Langston Hughes Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northgate, they will take on McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
